New ‘it’ hairstyle: slicked hair
Slicked locks are having a moment! It’s becoming impossible to escape this timeless trend, whether it’s on the runway or the red carpet. Let’s find out more about this glamorous and sophisticated look.
Firstly, what exactly is slick hair? This hairstyle generally involves slicking your hair backwards, towards the rear of the head. Roots should be saturated in gel whilst the lengths remain free from any product. This is a variation on the semi-wet look trend, yet the slicked section should finish just above the ears. This style was the star of the Céline Spring-Summer 2015 runway show at Paris Fashion Week, as well as the Balmain and Versace catwalks. So, what’s the reason behind the success of this style? It instantly opens up the wearers face and is perfect for showing off a bold make-up look. What’s more, it’s perfect for all hair lengths, whether you have short or long locks.
Keen to try the slicked hair trend? This look is oh-so simple to style. Start by straightening hair and applying Design Gel to the roots, leaving your lengths natural. Spray with hairspray and you’re good to go! There you have it… a chic style that is elegant and perfect for a special occasion. Pair with an LBD for added drama.
