How to wear flowers in your hair
Decorating your hair with flowers will give you a romantic, care-free country look in no time at all. Flowers can be added to any hairstyle to leave you looking naturally summery. Here are three ways to wear them.
Floral wreath. Floral wreaths are not just for bohemian weddings! The trick is not to choose something too over the top. These look best worn on long, loose hair with soft waves to play on the hippie theme, or on short, dishevelled hair. For a more romantic look, opt for pastel-coloured flowers. For a rockier edge, go for darker colours. Brush your hair into a centre-parting and create big curls, using curling tongs or heated rollers, then place the wreath on your head.
Scattered throughout your hair. As seen at Alexis Mabille, dot flowers here and there to decorate your hair. Wear it in natural, loose waves for that ultra-charming natural effect. The designer’s catwalk models looked as if they’d just awoken from a slumber in the meadows! At Mabille they used real flowers. But it’s not always so easy to just pop down to the field and pick your own flowers. So we won’t judge if you cheat by using floral hair clips. Choose small flowers and slide a few into your hair. Wear in slightly wavy hair for a gorgeous dishevelled effect.
On hair jewellery. This season, hair jewellery has been seen on heads here, there and everywhere. The most popular hair jewellery is the large hair slide. The large hair slide comes in many different shapes and forms, but we have seen some drop-dead gorgeous, glitzy floral versions. To wear your floral hair slide, create a side-parting with your hair down. Insert your slide into the thickest side to hold the section in place and secure just above your ear.
