Damaged hair: which hair regime should I adopt?
Have you noticed that your hair is weak, dull or tired? Follow all of our experts’ advice to rediscover your healthy locks as quickly as possible.
First of all, it’s important to determine to what extent your hair is damaged. “There is a big difference between sensitive and damaged hair. Do the untangling test to examine its condition. After shampooing your hair, comb or brush it: if you struggle to get through it, even after applying conditioner, your hair is definitely damaged. Once it has been untangled, you can also pull on a section of hair to test its elasticity. If it is brittle and doesn’t show any resistance, you must act to repair it“.
If you consider your hair to be damaged, you don’t have to drop by the salon. “Of course, you can have sections of it cut off such as the split ends. This will give a new boost to your hair and you should get it done roughly every three months. However, don’t think that a trim is necessarily the best solution. Colouring your hair can rescue its appearance and make it look good: a Contrast treatment will illuminate dull hair, whereas a Gloss treatment will give it shine. A few sprays of Shine Spray will also have the same glossy effect”.
Protein rich treatments are your best friends. “Diligence must be your key word if you wish to reinvigorate your hair as quickly as possible. The Keratin Therapy range of products is perfect to help you to achieve your goal. In fact, 95% of your hair fibre is made up of keratin. By using these highly concentrated treatments, you can completely reconstruct it. Once a week, wash your hair with Ultimate Purity shampoo, before applying Infinite Softness mask on damp hair and leaving it for several minutes”.
Our advice: To preserve your hair’s health as much as possible, avoid traumatising it with chemical treatments which prove to be harmful for it, such as repeated bleaching. Finally, only use heating tools on your hair with a light touch.
